About Me & Approach
I have an Integrative Approach to Therapy, meaning I use a range of proven techniques to help get you get the most effective outcomes that are tailored to your needs. As we all have our own unique experiences in life, some people respond better to a particular approach than others.
Having trained in various therapeutic modalities, I can help you to find solutions to your challenges from a holistic perspective with approaches that benefit you on a mind-body-soul level.
When we work at integration rather than just treating symptoms we can can bring about transformations that support and develop our personal growth and path to well-being.
I started my training in 2013 and completed my core training at the University of Derby. Since qualifying I have since undertaken further professional training and qualified as a Clinical and Medical Hypnotherapist, EFT Practitioner, NLP Coach and Couples Counsellor.
My background before qualifying as a Therapist was in Social Work. I have worked with people from all different backgrounds for over 25 years including therapeutic work with children and families, young people, adults with disabilities, advocacy and group work.
I have worked in many different settings including the NHS, Local Authorities and the Voluntary Sector in addition to Private Practice. I have several years experience of working in organisations that specialise in the recovery of trauma from abuse including Women’s Aid and Rape Crisis as well as Employee Support Counselling within the NHS.
I have been fortunate enough in my career to witness some amazing transformations in people’s lives and feel privileged to have been a part of their journey.
Therapeutic work can be hard work, but astonishingly rewarding. As such I attend regular monthly clinical supervision and I am fully committed to my continual professional development and undertake regular training to refresh my skills and update my knowledge in the latest advances and techniques in therapy work.
I am a registered member of both the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Reg.22084) and National Council of Hypnotherapy (MNCP Reg.9223).
It is very important for you as a client when choosing a Therapist, to ensure that they have received adequate training and abide by the Ethical Codes of Conduct in their practice. This also protects you as the client should you need to raise any concerns about your time in Therapy. I hold a current DBS Certificate and full Indemnity Insurance.
